Currently, Branch Engineering is the City Engineer for the Cities of Florence, Coburg, Lowell and Veneta, and is a consultant of Record for the City of Albany. Branch has represented the City of Florence for two decades. We also provide on-call engineering services for the majority of Lane County Incorporated Cities including Cottage Grove, Eugene, Springfield and we routinely assist the Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon State Parks, and Willamalane Parks & Recreation with professional engineering and surveying services.

City of Florence, Oregon

HWY 101 Pedestrain Crossing Safety Imrovements
Branch Engineering assisted the City of Florence and the Oregon Department of Transportation with the engineering of the first enhanced pedestrian crossing with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) installed on a State Highway in Oregon. Motorist compliance with crossing rules has been greatly improved with the improvements. This project has become the model for pedestrian crossing safety improvements and is being replicated by national firms in Cities throughout Oregon, and the United States. Three more crossings on Highway 101 are currently under construction and the City is pursuing installation at three more locations.

City of Veneta, Oregon

Branch Engineering has been selected as the Engineer-of-Record to assist with the general engineering needs of the community. A current assignment includes assisting City staff with project management of a $17 million water pipeline extension from Eugene to Veneta.

City of Coburg, Oregon

After preparing the City’s Water System Master Plan, Branch Engineering has designed and implemented numerous water system upgrades in Coburg. Additional projects include independent oversight of the $24 million municipal wastewater collection and treatment system, assistance with updating the Transportation System Plan, and review of private development applications.

City of Eugene, Oregon

As an on-call engineering consultant, Branch Engineering has provided traffic engineering, structural and geotechnical engineering and surveying services for multiple projects, including a Transportation Planning Rule Analyses, widening of North Delta Highway, and surveying of Cuthbert Amphitheater, Laurelwood Golf Course, and Civic Stadium.

University of Oregon Millrace Intake Screen – University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon

Intake Screen: Prepared construction documents for the intake screen designed to prevent aquatic life entrapment. Designed the coffer dam and culverts on site. Prepared structural plans for improvements to the mechanical area.

    • Temperature Pollution Analysis: Analyze various options to mitigate temperature of the non-contact cooling tower discharge. Made recommendations for the temperature dissipation mechanism.
    • Spillway Impact: Designed a concrete spillway wall with a relief valve.

Commercial

10 Coburg Medical Office Building – Eugene, Oregon

Architect:  TBG Architects & Planners, Inc.
Contractor:  John Hyland Construction
The 10 Coburg project is a state of the art multi-tenant professional office building in the Willamette River Greenway and Floodplain. Branch Engineering provided Civil Engineering, Traffic Impact Analysis, and Surveying services.

 

Kendall Toyota – Goodpasture Island Rd., Eugene, Oregon

This project was LEED Gold certified. Branch Engineering performed a topographic survey and structure locates. A site grading, paving and utility plan was prepared for the redevelopment of the 7 acre site. Designed a stormwater management facility consisting of surface retention and infiltration. Proposed site stormwater treatment design includes a pre-existing vegetative infiltration basin and the addition of an Aqua Swirl Concentrator (AS-2) manufactured treatment technology. A Traffic Impact Analysis was provided for the site.

 

Hawes Financial Center – Springfield, Oregon

Contractor:  Chambers Construcion
Branch provided civil and traffic engineering, surveying, and floodplain engineering for the 85,000 square foot office building. The 7-acre site included design of a collector roadway and on-site stormwater infiltration.

 

SeQuential Bio-fuel Station – Eugene, Oregon

Designer:  Habitats, Inc.
Branch Engineering provided the Traffic Impact Analysis and a Trip Generation Study for Oregon’s first bio-fuel station. This design satisfies Lane County and ODOT’s respective transportation facilities requirements.

Residential

 Santa Clara Crossing – Mixed-Use Development Zone Change and Plan Amendments, Eugene, Oregon

Prepared Goal 12 Traffic Impact Analysis for 10-acre mixed-use commercial center for MetroPlan Amendment, satisfying City of Eugene, Lane County, and ODOT’s respective transportation facilities. Branch Engineering provided site grading, paving, utility and stormwater management plan with water quality and sub-surface detention. The project also includes public road improvements and a traffic signal modification. Surveying services included monument recovery, right-of-way and property line determination, topographic map preparation, utility mapping, identify existing easements, legal lot determination, Property Line Adjustments, legal descriptions and deeds.

 

River Glen Subdivision – Springfield, Oregon

A 170 lot, 50 acre subdivision in Springfield for Future B Homes. Branch Engineering performed sanitary sewer and drainage studies, designed Regional Sewage Pumping Station and prepared Operations and Maintenance Manual for pumping station. Addressed Land Use Planning issues, prepared annexation, performed boundary survey and prepared the Tree Preservation Plan. Prepared the design and construction drawings for the subdivision (roads, utilities and lots). Performed a Traffic Impact Analysis for surrounding areas. Provided contract administration, construction inspection, and as-built drawings for the City of Springfield. Prepared easements, legal descriptions, recorded plat and performed construction staking and construction inspection.

 

Hutton House – Eugene, Oregon

Branch Engineering provided all structural engineering for a new six level apartment building intended for university student housing at 18th & Harris Street in Eugene for Arbor South Architects. The construction materials included steel and wood framing with a concrete parking garage below. Building size: 30,232 square feet.

 

The WaterShed – Mill St. & 3rd Ave., Eugene, Oregon

The WaterShed is a unique energy and resource efficient mixed-use development in downtown Eugene. Branch Engineering provided civil engineering and surveying services for the project.  Among the typical civil engineering tasks of paving, grading and utility plans, the design included permeable brick pavers for infiltration of stormwater, and rainwater cisterns for capturing roof runoff.

Industrial

 Ideal Steel – Eugene, Oregon

Branch Engineering provided structural and civil engineering for a new office building and manufacturing buildings for an industrial facility on Link Road in Lane County, Oregon for Ideal Steel. Construction materials:  Rigid frame steel and concrete and wood frame.  Building sizes:  3,600 square feet, 10,000 square feet.

Branch Engineering provided Civil and Traffic Engineering, and Surveying services for 100 acre proposed new campus

Educational

University of Oregon Natural & Cultural History Museum – University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon

Branch Engineering prepared a stomwater utility plan for the expansion of The Museum of Natural & Cultural History. The stormwater system discharges to a manhole near the Knight Law Center. The water quality system proposed for the site is a sedimentation man hole and an Aqua Swirl AS-2 by AquaShield Stormwater Treatment Solutions. The treatment system was designed to receive runoff from a portion of the existing natural history museum, the proposed expansion of the museum and a small portion of the basketball courts.

 

Springfield Public School District – Maple and Thurston Elementary Schools, Springfield, Oregon

Branch Engineering provided Traffic Impact Analysis and Surveying services for the construction of the new elementary schools. Survey support included field and office work to prepare topographic mapping and recorded boundary survey for the two school sites (9.5 acres and 11 acre), writing documents for new easements as needed and providing and independent check of construction accuracy.

 

Academic Arts Academy – Springfield, Oregon

This project includes an expansion of the Springfield Academic Arts Academy building on 6th and Main Street in Springfield, Oregon for the Springfield School District. Branch Engineering provided planning, geotechnical, civil and structural engineering as well as surveying services.

 

Relief Nursery – Springfield, Oregon

Branch Engineering was originally hired by Relief Nursery, local non-profit agency, to provide a topographic survey for use in designing a new facility. Since, Branch Engineering has also provided services for a property line adjustment to give the property enough area for the facility. Tasks include topographic mapping and boundary calculations, preparation and recording of a post-adjustment boundary survey, and preparation of an access easement. As of the fall of 2009, Branch Engineering is working with the project architect, Rowell Brokaw Architects to provide all structural and civil engineering services.

Recreation

Regional Sports Center – Springfield, Oregon

We provided all structural engineering services for the Broadbase Group's sports complex on 32nd & Main Street in S pringfield, Oregon for Solarc Architects & Engineers. Construction materials: Rigid frame hot rolled steel with a deep pile foundation, pile caps and concrete tension tendons. Building size: 97,744 square feet.

City of Eugene, Facilities Management: Cuthbert Amphitheater, Laurelwood Golf Course and Shelton McMurphey Johnson House – Eugene, Oregon

Branch Engineering was hired by the City of Eugene’s Facilities Management Department to provide survey support for improvements. Tasks include field and office work to prepare topographic mapping and field and office work to provide a calculated property boundary (at two sites).

Religious

Temple Beth Israel – Eugene, Oregon

Branch Engineering provided all structural and site civil engineering for a new synagogue for the Temple Beth Israel congregation constructed at 29th and University Street in Eugene for TBG Architects. Building size: 26,250 square feet.

Assembly of God Church Sanctuary – Eugene, Oregon

A new sanctuary for the Assembly of God Church Sanctuary congregation at Robin Hood Avenue in Eugene, Oregon. We provided all surveying, geotechnical and civil engineering services for this project. The project required conditional use approval; all planning documents were prepared by Branch Engineering, Inc.
